I got the dogs leads on for the first time ever without it being a big wrestling match at the door, infact the dogs even led down with the leaads on and waited for me to decide to go. I even managed to lock the front door without being dragged down the path. I walked both dogs with normal leads and no halti and was not dragged at all. What is Home Dog Boarding?
Home Dog Boarding is, as the name suggests, boarding for dogs in people's homes. Just like giving your dog to friends to look after but without burdening your friends too much or too often. The dog lives with the family, is fed as usual by them and is taken for walks by them. This system, with good caring families has the potential to be much better than some traditional boarding kennels.

Of course, you get what you pay for and Home Dog Boarding is in general more expensive then normal kennels, but it may well be worth it when you see your pet again after the holiday.

You may be able to find individuals who take dogs into their homes but often there are agencies which select the carers and then allocate dogs to the carers. Under this sytem you cannot normally make individual arrangments with a carer for a future holiday period; you always have to pass through the agency. As with boarding kennels early booking is recommended.

Some questions you might like to ask :- Q1. Do the dogs live in the house and where? Q2. Do the Home Boarders have insurance? Q3. Is it possible to visit the boarder before the holiday period? Q4. Are the Home Boarders licensed by the local Council?
